Costume Care

Ideally do not wash until after performances.

If you wash

Hand wash cold water

Use soap without Bleach!

Hang to Dry

Do not Iron!

Store in closet prior to show

Store Tutu’s flat under mattress

- Carry in a garment bag or drycleaner bag clearly labelled with name & phone number.

- Garment Bags $25.00 @ Studios

- Ensure all stickers are removed from shoes

- Shoes must be clean

- Ensure name is on all shoes & Costume pieces.

- Do not eat or drink in costume – Water only!

- If you wear your costume to and from the performance please wear a “cover up” that protects your ENTIRE costume- tights too! (Watch for clothing that will leave fuzzes on your costume!)

What to Bring to Recital

(In a clearly marked bag or backpack)

1   Sewing Kit with needle & Scissors

1   Safety Pins

Static Guard

1   Hair Spray

1   Extra bobby pins/hairpins

1   Extra tights in colours needed (still in package).

1    Lipstick (in suggested colour from teacher)

1   Water bottle with Water only!

1   Clean snack - Crackers & Cheese nothing that contains peanuts!

1    Quiet activity – book, colouring book with crayons/pencil crayons no markers.

If you have questions concerning Dance costumes, Make up or Hair please contact your Teacher.

What Not to Bring

- No Jewellery (unless it’s part of the costume assigned by teacher)

- No Gum or Candies

- No Nail Polish

- No Visible Bra straps – Bra should be neutral in colour

- No underwear under costume!

- No Cell phones

- No Photo or Video Cameras in Theatre during performances.
