COMPETITION TEAM GUIDELINES
Accelerated Training Programs – Program Rules and Expectations
o Participation in the accelerated training program will guarantee a spot on the competitive team, but will not guarantee small groups, duos/trios, or solos.
o All rehearsals, dress rehearsals, mock exams, and extra rehearsals are mandatory, no exceptions.
o Exams are recommended. If an exam is offered to an accelerated student, it is expected that they take and complete the exam process to the best of their ability o Exam candidates must attend syllabus workshops (approx.$20-$25 fee).
o Dancers participating in other Dance Troupes/Groups/Studios that are not APA related will not be allowed to compete.
o Good class attendance is required to remain in the program. Poor attendance will result in dismissal.
o Any “enrichment” classes will be billed as an extra class ($55/month). Enrichment will be advised by a studio director.
o If a dancer is placed in classes that overlap program levels, they will be billed for the program in which the majority of their core discipline classes reside.
