Other Costs Involved Aside from the Registration Fee and Tuition, please consider these costs; Costumes All Classes participating in the year end show will purchase a costume for recital. Costume deposits will either be made upfront with your full year payment OR you can authorize Ambition Performing Arts to withdraw costume deposits on the First business day of December 2010 from your EFT payment on file. You can choose to pay your costume deposit any time before November 1st if you are paying monthly by EFT, and would rather not have the withdrawal automatically taken on December 1st. Just stop in the office to make the payment at a more convenient time. If you would rather not participate in recital and purchase the costume, please check out our sessional class offerings. They are a great alternative to the 10-month classes, with less commitment! Deposits are as follows:
![]() Recital Tickets & DVD's You may wish to purchase tickets and DVD to the year end show which are $15 per ticket and $35/ DVD (these are optional, but a ticket is required to sit the audience during recital) We are always happy to have you volunteer backstage with your child's show, should you not want to purchase recital tickets. This allows you to watch your dancer's piece from backstage, view and help with our dress rehearsal, and help us run a smooth show! Credits will be added to your account for the following season once your volunteer duties have been fulfilled, as a thank you for your help! Dancer's Photos We hire a professional photographer that will come into our studio once a year to take dancer's photographs. Packages start as low as $10. These photos are optional to buy, but we ask that you do your best to attend photo day, so as to be included in the Group Photograph. Dress Code All dancers have a dress code that they must adhere to. You will need to purchase these items from a local dance store or from our second hand sale in September prior to the start of the season. Dance store suggestions and all dress code requirements are available on the dress code page of this website or inside our handbook. Please do not purchase these items from department stores, for the same price you can get better quality and be fitted by a professional. Many times these items are used in your costume for recital and if you purchase the wrong item the first time you may be asked to purchase it again at a Dance store. Exams A dancer may be asked to take a dance examination, and that begins at $60 and increases depending on the level and discipline of dance to be examined. Exams are offered based on individual student strength, age and progress, and information will be sent home well before the payment due date if applicable for your child's class. Exams are never mandatory, but should be considered as the invitation is based on an individual assessment and recommendation. We encourage you to speak with your child's dance teacher or the office should you have any questions regarding this process. APA regularly hosts examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance for Ballet, Al Gilbert for Tap, and ADAPT for both Jazz and Tap. Competition A dancer may be asked to compete and groups begin at $230. This includes choreography and entry to 3 events. More information about competition can be obtained through our office, and we encourage any and all questions! |
